Short-form video is everywhere – but how do you make it work in professional services without compromising your firm’s credibility? This is a question I’m getting more and more from law firms and consultancies.
The good news? You don’t need to do dance challenges to make video work for your firm. Some of the most effective professional services video content I’ve seen is also the simplest: quick insights from partners, brief explanations of complex topics, or behind-the-scenes glimpses of your firm’s culture.
A corporate law firm I work with recently started creating 60-second insight videos from their partners. No fancy production – just clear, valuable insights filmed on good quality cameras in their offices. The engagement has been fantastic, particularly on LinkedIn, because they’re offering genuine value rather than trying to be entertainers.
What’s working right now:
- Quick expert insights on current industry issues
- Client success stories (with their permission, of course)
- Brief explanations of complex services or processes
- Team culture snippets that show your firm’s human side
- Event highlights and key takeaways
The secret is consistency over perfection. Better to publish regular, simple videos that provide value than to spend months planning something overly produced.
